Dubbed 'inland seas' by early European explorers, the Great Lakes have some of the most spectacular wilderness scenery on Earth, and a fifth of all the planet's fresh water. The waters pass by towering cliffs dotted with early Native American pictographs, caribou and moose grazing on the shores, over giant prehistoric sturgeon lurking among thousands of shipwrecks and past nearly 40 million people who live along the more than 10,000 miles of coastline.

The aurora is the greatest wonder a human can experience in nature. Now, you can experience the actual aurora with the world's first 4K x 4K real-time hemispherical immersive video. Animations and CG depict auroral myths and the science behind the aurora, also known as the northern or southern lights. The show tells the story of how auroras are formed, the secret behind the colors, the best places to see them, their different shapes, auroras on other planets, and more.

Scientists aren't waiting for asteroids and comets to come to us to learn more about them. Get an up-close look at spacecraft sent to rocky asteroids and icy comets. You'll follow the trek of the Chelyabinsk meteor as it entered Earth's atmosphere in 2013 and visualize major shifts in the history of the Solar System billions of years in the making.

Journey from the depths of the Pacific Ocean into the far reaches of space on a quest to find something that changes everything...signs of life, somewhere else in the universe. This immersive voyage takes audiences from the surface of Mars and the icy moons of Jupiter to the extreme lava fields of Hawaii and thermal vents deep beneath the sea. In these harsh environments, astrobiologists look for clues to how life takes hold. The Search for Life will make you re-examine such fundamental questions as: Where did we come from? How did we get here? Are we alone? Narrated by Malcom McDowell.

Spend an hour inside the planetarium’s Space Explorers Hall doing activities such as friendship bracelets, crafts, bottle decorating, Taylor Swift trivia, and more. Then, move into the planetarium’s Dome360 Theater for karaoke, followed by a private showing of the new Taylor Swift laser show! Participants get take-home items and are eligible for prizes. Additional support provided by the Bay Arts & Culture Commission and Mary Kelly, LMSW.

A spectacle of light and color as Elmo, Big Bird and their newest friend - Hu Hu Zhu - watch the stars and constellations over Sesame Street. During the show, children can interact, tracing out constellations and counting the time it takes the sun to set. The journey includes a trip to the Moon.

Celeste is a little girl who wants to explore the Universe, find new Earths and know how to discover exoplanets. While Celeste is fighting off sleep in her room by reading a book on astronomy, she receives an unexpected visit from a character called MOON. Together, they will enjoy a journey through the Universe to discover what exoplanets are and how they can be detected. They observe rogue planets, oceanic worlds and super-Earths. MOON tells her about exoplanet hunters, who observe the sky in search of planets like Earth.

Jason Achilles is a lifelong composer, producer and rock multi-instrumentalist who helped NASA design a microphone for the Mars Perseverance rover. In this multi-dimensional and inspirational show, Jason shares personal experiences with NASA, recordings from the Martian surface, high resolution audio-video of rocket launches, and his own soundscapes set to immersive dome video and animation. This special showing is in support of the Midland Center for the Art’s “Cosmic Celebration” weekend.
